Who: Anyone in 6th-12th Grades
What: The annual GCYM spring retreat to focus on deepening our faith & connecting with our friends.
  • Meet at Grace Chapel on Friday, April 26, at 5:30 PM – Check-in inside the lobby, deliver your luggage to the trailer, then enjoy dinner that will be provided in the Fellowship Area. Dinner is included in price of retreat, so you will not need to eat dinner before checking in at Grace Chapel.
  • Return to Grace Chapel on Sunday, April 28, at 2:00 PM.
Where: Camp Wetoga near Blue Ridge, GA (about 2 hour drive from Grace Chapel).
  • To get away so that we can focus on what matters most, free from distractions.
  • To connect with peers & caring adults through small group discussions, team activities, and having a ton of fun!
  • To engage with God in a meaningful way through worship, Bible study, challenging faith conversations, and personal reflection.
  • To have a blast! We eat well, play hard, slip-n-slide, and enjoy fun with friends in as many ways as we can imagine.

Online payment can be made with a credit card when you register, OR you can save the convenience fee by placing cash or check – written to Grace Chapel Church – in an envelope and drop it in The Box in the Grace Chapel Lobby (hanging on the wall between the front door and the office).
  • Early Rate by March 3 = $90
  • Regular Rate through March 31 = $120
  • Covers all meals, lodging, transportation, snacks, activities, supplies, & memorabilia during the retreat.
  • Sibling Discount: Take $5 off the registration price for each child from the same family. If you’re paying Online, enter the word SIBLING as a promotional code under the Ticket Information. If you’re paying Offline, simply subtract $5 per participant from the same family.

GC Youth Participant Covenant

  1. I will act in ways that bring glory to God and show love to others.
  2. I will dress in a modest way so that inappropriate attention is not drawn to myself. 
  3. I will not enter the cabin area of or be alone with anyone of the opposite gender. 
  4. No personal electronic devices will be allowed.
  5. I will not carry or use weapons of any kind, including “toys” (air soft guns, pocket knives, etc.). 
  6. I understand that illegal substances or behaviors will not be tolerated.

Disciplinary Action Plan

Any illegal activity, possession/use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons, sexual activity, or relentless disrespect for authority will be cause for immediate dismissal.  
In this case, it is the parents’ responsibility to provide a way home for the participant.  Participation in future opportunities provided by GC Youth will be discussed with parents, participant, and Youth staff as soon as possible after returning from the Youth event.
3 Steps (when breaking the Participant Covenant)
  1. Verbal Warning (by any adult)
  2. Limited Privileges (must remain with adult and notify Parents/Guardians)
  3. Going Home (see above)

Packing List

  • Study Stuff: Bible; pen
  • Bathroom Stuff:  toiletries; towel(s); footwear to wear in the bathhouse
  • Cabin Stuff: sleeping bag; pillow; twin sheet
  • 1 Bottle of tear-free baby shampoo for the slip & slide
  • Flashlight
  • Sunscreen
  • Water Bottle/Drinking Cup (label with your name)
  • Trash bag for wet clothes
  • Work gloves for picking up sticks
Modest Clothing:
  • Warm clothing – hoodie, sweatshirt, jacket, etc. (it WILL be chilly, especially in the mornings and nights in the north Georgia mountains) 
  • Rain gear – poncho, rain jacket, umbrella, rain boots (rain is very likely this time of year)
  • Messy clothes for slip & slide on Saturday (bring a trash bag to put your clothes in if you plan to bring them home)
  • Athletic attire for indoor games & activities
  • Warm sleeping attire

Release Form

Each family must turn in a signed GC Youth Release Form each ministry year – August 2018-August 2019.
If your family has not already completed the form, please click the button at the bottom of this page to download, print and sign the form, and place it in The Box in the Grace Chapel Lobby (hanging on the wall between the front door and the office).
Make sure to take a picture of the front and back of your most current medical insurance card and email to
kimsmithlucas@yahoo.com, OR attach a photocopy to the form when you drop it in The Box.

Camp Waiver

Each participant – Youth and Adults – must turn in a signed copy of the Camp Wetoga waiver.  Click the link below to download and print the form, then drop the signed copy into The Box in the lobby at Grace Chapel or bring it to the Spring Breakaway Meeting on Sunday, April 14, at 7:50 PM, in the Youth Room.
