what is orange?

gc family ministry thinks orange. what is “orange thinking?”

ORANGE

is the vibrant outcome of red and yellow.

ORANGE
happens when the light of the Church and the heart of the Family partner together with an effective strategy to leverage their influence to help grow the faith of the next generation.

the church

God directs the Church to shine a light in the darkness, to highlight who He is and reveal His son, Jesus Christ so that the world can know Him personally.  We represent the Church by the color yellow.

Ephesians 5:8-9 (NLT)
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!  For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

the family

God directs the Family to display His heart by teaching and modeling to each generation a love for Him and a love for each other.  The heart of the family makes an impact on the future of every child and the future of the world. The family is represented by the color red.

Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT)
Jesus replied, ” ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

spiritual growth

When the Church and the Family work together, they can have a greater impact on a child’s spiritual growth than if they work alone.

[2>1+1]

Ephesians 3:16-17 (NLT)
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Our 252 Basics curriculum, modeled after Luke 2:52, is built around 3 basic truths that every child should embrace: “I need to make the right choice. I can trust God no matter what. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.” Children learn a new Life App and verse each month, which is reinforced by the stories and activities done throughout the month.
