Who: Anyone in 6th-12th Grades
What: The annual GC Youth weekend retreat
  • Meet at Grace Chapel on Friday, October 11, at 5:30 PM.  Dinner will be provided to participants after check-in.
  • Return to Grace Chapel on Sunday, October 13, at 2:30 PM
Where: Ocoee Retreat Center in Ocoee, TN (about 2 hour drive from Grace Chapel). Visit their website at ocoeeretreatcenter.com.


  • To get away so that we can focus on what matters most, free from distractions.
  • To connect in with peers & caring adults through small group discussions, team activities, and having a ton of fun!
  • To engage with God in a meaningful way through worship, Bible study, challenging faith conversations, and personal reflection.


Covers all meals, lodging, transportation, supplies, & memorabilia/T-shirt during the retreat.

  • Early Registration rate through Sunday, August 11 = $115
  • Regular rate through September 15 = $140 ​(see discount option below)

Please add an additional $30 per person who wants to do the optional Saturday afternoon activity (all others will have free time on the field, volleyball court, basketball court, inside the large group pavilion, etc.)

  • 6th-8th graders option: High Ropes Course: zip line, rock wall, swing – maximum weight limit applies ~200 lbs.
  • 9th-12th graders option: Paintball

How to pay: For your convenience, there are two ways you can pay:

  • Debit/credit card online – there is an additional convenience fee
  • Cash or check, written to Grace Chapel Church – place in an envelope and drop in The Box, hanging on the wall in the lobby between the front door & the church office.

*Cost should not prevent anyone from being a part of this experience. Through the generosity of Grace Chapel families, there are scholarships available for this event. Please contact Rocky Wyatt if you have questions or want more information about GC Youth event scholarships. Also, please take advantage of the following discount if it applies to your family.

  • Sibling Discount: Take $20 off the cost for EACH Youth when registering two or more from the same family. (NOT able to be combined with the Early Registration Discount.) If paying online, enter the promotional code SIBLING on the ticket screen to apply this discount; if paying offline, simply subtract the discount from payment.

Here are a few more key details:

GC Youth Release Form: Every participant must complete the GC Youth Release Form, which also includes a Participant Covenant.  This must be completed to participate in any GC Youth activities.  Click on the button below to download the release form, and then place signed form in The Box on the wall in the GC Lobby.

Waiver: Every participant must complete the retreat center waiver to participate in this retreat.  The waiver will be available soon.
Insurance Cards: Every participant must submit a photocopy or pictures of the front AND back of your medical insurance card in the event that emergency treatment is required. Photocopies can be placed in The Box, OR you can email two pictures – front and back of card – to Rocky Wyatt: rocky@gracechapelchurch.com.
Check-in: On the day of the retreat, you will need to visit Check-in inside the GC lobby to let us know you’ve arrived and to find out if there are any other forms or payments we still need from you.  The trailer for luggage will be open in the Grace Chapel parking lot by 5:00 PM, so feel free to come early to load your stuff then head to Check-in.  We’ll have dinner together at GC before we depart.
What to bring: Use the packing list below to make sure you have all you need.
What NOT to bring: For the effectiveness of the environment we desire to create at our retreat experiences, weapons & tech devices must be left at home.  (Do NOT bring your phone so that everyone can have a distraction-free experience.)  We have the right to confiscate any of these devices, which will be returned to parents when we get home on Sunday.
Emergencies: In the event of an emergency at the retreat, we will most definitely contact anyone listed on the participant’s Registration Form as soon as possible. If you need to contact a participant about an emergency situation, you may try to contact one of the following numbers:

Packing List

  • Bible, Notebook/Journal, and Pen
  • Toiletries, Towel, Footwear to wear in the bathrooms
  • Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Twin Sheet
  • Flashlight
  • Laundry bag/trash bag for dirty clothes
  • Personal water bottle/cup (make sure it’s labeled) – we’ll provide plenty water…you provide the bottle.
  • Modest Clothing:
    • To keep warm during chilly nights & cool mornings (layer with jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc.)
    • For optional activities on Saturday:  high ropes course for middle school, paintball for high school
    • For athletic activities, free play on the field, sand volleyball, and basketball court,
    • To get in costume for the team films.
    • For sleeping

GC Youth Participant Covenant

  • I will show respect for others by how I talk and act.
  • I will dress in a modest way so that inappropriate attention is not drawn to myself.
  • I will stay with the group – if I need to separate from the group, I will notify an adult leader and will always be with at least two other people.
  • I will use personal electronic devices, when allowed, in a responsible, respectful way.  
  • I will not carry or use weapons of any kind, including air soft guns, pocket knives, etc.

Disciplinary Action Plan


  • Any illegal activity, possession/use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons, sexual activity, or relentless disrespect for authority will be cause for immediate dismissal.
  • In the case of dismissal, it is the responsibility of Guardians to provide a way home for a Participant, at full cost to the Participant’s family.  Participation in future opportunities provided by the GC Youth will be discussed with Guardians, Participant, and GC Leaders as soon as possible after returning from the Youth event.

3 Steps When Breaking the Participant Covenant

  1. Verbal Warning (by an Adult Leader)
  2. Limited Privileges (must remain with Adult Leader, and notify Parents/Guardians)
  3. Going Home (see Disciplinary Action Plan on front)
